Course Description
Diabetic Retinopathy is the leading cause of legal blindness in the United States. Recommendations for management continue to evolve as newer treatments and clinical trials are performed. Treatment options include medical therapy, laser photocoagulation, intravitreal injections and pars plana vitrectomy. Clinical trials over the past 40 years have shaped the preferred management of this disease. The current outline includes all the major clinical trials dating from the DRS in 1976 to newly published results from the DRCR Network.
